(disclosure: we are not a company and their is only one person who blogs here…me. I am the marketing department, the news department, the sports department, the editorial department, the financial department, etc.)

But TorStar Corporation, the parent company of the Toronto Star newspaper, announced they would be restructuring and laying off about 85 employees. The cause, according to local radio, was lower revenues from advertising.

11/29/06: As per usual, I was listening to the John Oakley show on AM 640 Toronto during this morning's commute, and Harry Kopyto came on the program.

If you are not familiar with Harry Kopyto, allow me to introduce you. Harry is self described Marxist/Leninist, who at one time was a fully licensed Toronto lawyer until such time that he was disbarred by the Law Society of Ontario. Recently Mr. Kopyto was in headlines in Toronto for being kicked out of a provincial court room for committing a fashion faux pas.

The Conservatives will follow through with their election promise to revisit same-sex marriage, with debate expected to begin as early as next week.

Already we have backlash.
A definition is changed after standing on its own two feet for thousands of years in a vote that saw the NDP have to kick an MP to the curb for not voting along the party line, and where the Ministers of the Government had to vote with the then Prime Minister, and less then half the population is content to let this issue just rest, and have refered to Prime Minister Harper as a "Neo Con" for opening the floor to debate.
